Maybelline has come out with the 24 hour Color Tattoo Crayon to match the 24 Hour Color Tattoo Shadows only in a different form. When I saw these I was so excited to see an eyeshadow crayon that was affordable plus in a form that provided easy application. I have been so impressed with the Maybelline cream shadows in pot form that I have for my professional kit so I was looking forward to using these and expected for them to have the same reputation of the original, truly long wearing, and pigmented formula with great colors. I purchased them all
I am sorry to say that I was very disappointed in these. There was a great color selection to choose from but when I swatched them they didn’t apply with much pigmentation. They are also very sheer with less color concentration. I also noticed that even the mattes in the collection were shimmery looking when applied to the skin. Next I tested them for long wear and noticed that they didn’t last nearly as long as the 24 hour cream shadows in pot form and didn’t “stain” the skin underneath as well either. So sadly, I am not as pleased with these as much as I am with the cream formula in the pot. They are fine if you want a very sheer wash of color without long-wearing performance (and are not looking for a very matte look), but in comparison to the 24 Hour Color Tattoo Cream Shadows in pot form they do not perform as well. I would definitely stick to the original “pots”.
