Anastasia Beverly Hills has once again come out with another beautiful palette but with a bit of a different twist on color this time. Some are already saying it’s Anastasia’s “most beautiful” eyeshadow palette to date and that’s definitely saying something considering how gorgeous the other palettes have been. The new “Modern Renaissance” Palette has a vibrant and bright array of colors that have the look of paintings and art forms that are reminiscent of the Renaissance period in Europe in the 1400’s with shades ranging from a light pastel cream, to a deep red wine color as well as earthy shades of neutrals in light and dark browns, taupes, oranges, berries and a few shimmery shades of gold, peach, and bronze (11 matte shades, 3 metallic shades). All of the shades are intensely pigmented as is per usual from Anastasia with high color payoff and are once again of the same “buttery” and smooth consistencies that we have all come to know and love from the Anastasia line. This particular period of art in history was a very influential one that grabbed our attention with stark contrasts and vivid hues that marked this period as one of the greatest in art history while also being extremely modern for it’s time. This palette absolutely represents that.
There are many different looks you can create with the color selection in this palette that could go from a light everyday neutral look to an intense colorful or sultry smoky eye look depending on your mood or the occasion. My personal favorite colors are “Antique Bronze” (a rich coppery brown with some sheen), “Vermeer”(a peachy beige shimmer), and “Venetian Red” (a rich deep cranberry matte). The packaging is made of sturdy cardboard with a flip top lid that contains a little mirror and is covered with a light mauve felt material that is both pleasing to the eye as well as fitting sturdily in your hand. It goes for $42.00 and weighs 0.7 grams or 0.02 oz. per palette which is what most of the Anastasia Beverly Hills palettes containing the same amount of product have usually run for. It also comes with a typical Anastasia double-ended makeup brush; one end being a soft fluffy blending applicator and the other a more densely packed lid applicator. All in all I think this is a great palette that is definitely worth the investment as well as being a lot of fun to play with this summer while we wait for the next great makeup creation or release from Anastasia Beverly Hills; most likely and hopefully coming sometime this fall. Can’t wait!!
Such a beautiful palette for the fall!
