Topic of the Week Tuesdays: Caviar Skin Products

This skin care post is about an ingredient I have noticed seems to be coming up in skin care products lately.  It is not an ingredient that has been mentioned in the market much that I know of and not one that you would think would go in a skin care product but it seems to have a lot of great benefits with ingredients such as lipids, peptides, amino acids, vitamins A, B6, B12, D, C, K, minerals, omega 3’s, proteins, collagens, fatty acids, moisturizing, proteins, anti-aging properties, and collagen building properties but there don’t seem to be many on the beauty market and it is not an ingredient that one would typically think would be in an ingredient for skin care.  They can be in beauty products in a variety of ways.  They can be in serums, creams, gels, cleansers, eye treatments, and even in pure extract form.  They are said to increase hydration, improve skin texture, reduce lines, and build collagen.

There are many types of caviar and the eggs used can be from fish such as beluga, sturgeon, serruga, ossetra, carp, whitefish, salmon, and steelhead trout.  They come in a variety of colors depending on the fish but all have the same skin benefits.  There are several on the beauty market with some being very expensive and others not so much but they can be found at beauty lines like Ski II, La Mer, Alterna, Golden Caviar, La Prairie, Porselene, and Poi.  There are some brands that even carry caviar extract (Crystalline Concentrate by La Mer) but I am not sure of the benefits of that and how it is used or applied that works best.  Of all the things out there on the beauty market this one caught my eye as an interesting ingredient in skin care products.

  2. That’s interesting because fish is a major source of omega 3 fatty acids, and some have vitamin A, There’s a good amount of vitamin A in Cod Liver Oil. Thanks You always have the newest info.
