Topic of the Week Tuesday: Double Cleansing Technique

L1050652

Double Cleansing is a technique that is relatively new on the beauty market but has been praised as one of the best cleansing techniques although it has been nothing new on the beauty market for quite some time in Japan and Korea where some of the best complexions and high quality skin care products are.  It’s a technique that is supposed to be one of the best to really deep clean the skin removing makeup effectively and really great for getting the pores extra clean which helps prepare the skin for the makeup best application and accept serums and moisturizers as well.  It is a 2-step process where a facial cleansing oil is used (first step) and the a water based cleanser (second step) or a favorite cleanser of your own .  Not only is it good for reducing pore size but also reverses and delays aging of the skin.  If face oil cleansers or oils bother your eyes after cleansing (it does mine) then just avoid the eye area.

Some of the skin care(and some of my favorite beauty brands) products referenced or recommended that are good for oil are Shu Eumura’s Balanced Cleansing Oil, DHC’s (top rated by the website Total Beauty), Garnier Nourishing oil for dry skin, Tata Harper’s Oil Cleanser just to name a few.  Some water based ones are Philosophy’s Purity liquid soap cleanser, Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser, Caudalie’s Foaming Cleanser, and one of my favorite cleansers of all time, Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser (so good at cleaning but not stripping your skin).  There are a lot of good milky cleansers on the market too such as Lancôme’s “Galatee Confort” Comforting Milky Cream Cleanser (my favorite) and Bioderma’s “Hydrabio Lait” is also a good one and one of the best skin product lines around.  I personally have tried this technique and really liked how clean my skin was and how well there were no traces of makeup afterwards.  I am really impressed with this technique and the people who use this method have wonderful skin so I’ll take their word for it that it works, as well as because of how great it made my skin look and feel afterwards!
