Goodbye To Summer Makeup Focus: Drugstore/Affordable Bronze Summer Makeup Products I’ve Loved.

Summer has ended and there were so many great makeup products that launched over the summer that it’s hard to nail it down to just few. So, for this last summer post I’m going to focus on some of the drugstore products that I’ve loved over the summer that I was so pleasantly surprised by (at how good they were regardless of the hype or not enough hype because lots of hype doesn’t always mean a great makeup product).

The products listed are also easy and effortless to use and let’s face it, who wants to spend hours in the bathroom putting on a heavy full glam makeup look during the summer season when there are so many fun things to do and adventures to go on outdoors, etc…. In my opinion summer makeup should be sheer, natural, hydrating, and in waterproof formulas (as well as SPF if possible) while also being easy and simple which I like best for summer makeup so you can have fun and be worry free knowing you look great in whatever activity you’re doing or whichever kind of weather may come along including sweating, tears (happy wedding tears or graduation, etc…), rain, chlorine in pool water or the salty water of the sea at the beach.

For skincare and prep I have absolutely loved the Revlon “Rose Glow Face Mist”. When they says it’s a “hydrating and refreshing” setting or skin prep mist, they mean it! It has a “superfruit complex” in it and can be used as a daily skin prep, refresh, and set spray (the spray pump on this is so fine and one of the best fine mists I’ve seen out there. It’s super glowy and gives your skin that dewy look (warning on the glow factor unless you’re the “more glow the better type” and say bring it on!) which I personally love but handle at your own risk! I also love the “Rose Glow Face Gloss” that has 80% rose water and smells deliciously like roses. It can be used as a face gloss alone or under makeup and has a slight rosy-pink tint to it. Next is the Morphe “Glowstunner Hydrating Tinted Moisturizer” which is nice and light with sheer coverage and perfect for the summer season (also has SPF 30!). For concealer, I really like the Loreal “Infallible Full Wear Concealer” that says “full wear” but is actually very light and non-drying under the eyes and blends like a dream. The NYX Cosmetics “Sweet Cheeks Soft Tint Mousse” that adds just a touch of sheer blendable color to the cheeks (but can also be layered to be built up) in the shade “Baby Doll” (a rosy-pink). For the eyes, the Morphe Bronze Metal Eyeshadow Palette has gorgeous bronzy-gold taupe shades in it to add to that bronzed look. Also for the eyes, the Loreal “Pro-Last Longwear” Eye Pencil in the shade “Bronze” to line the eyes for a rich bronze with a little bit of gold sparkle on the outer corners, to line the eyes (either lid), or in the water line. The “Sky High Lash Sensational Mascara” that has been so raved about by Maybelline adds a lot of length to the lashes with out too much clumping or too much fullness and is amazing! For a little sheer glow to the cheeks, the E.L.F. Cosmetics “Jelly Pop Glow Stick” is lightweight and adds that dewy highlight to the high points of the face and is hydrating as well as buildable (but not blinding) is really hydrating and smells like refreshing watermelon which I think just the smell of cools you off in the summer heat.

Finally, for the lips I don’t like too use much liner in the summer but like smudging or patting the lips with the Loreal “Colour Riche Lipstick” in the shade 810 “Sandstone” which is a gorgeous bronze-mauve shade with a bit of golden sparkle (the shade 799 is also gorgeous and a pink-bronze golden nude). Also, the Maybelline “Super Stay Ink Crayon” in the shade “Talk The Talk” (a brown-nude) you can line the outer edge of the lip line and smudge it to blend with the other lip products to act as a soft liner (or filled in on your whole lip) then topping it with Revlon’s “The Gloss Super Lustrous Lip Gloss” in the shade “252 Sandstorm” which is a beautiful golden-nude sparkle. Their lip glosses are so smooth, non-drying, non-sticky, and so comfortable to wear with such a beautiful shade range to choose from (I’m putting some of them in my pro mua kit they are so good!).

So, I hope you all will check out some of these affordable drugstore products because they are worth the purchase and better than some high end makeup (in my opinion). Ok, goodbye summer, hello fall!
